Meet the CSS Off Crew
JD Graffam, Co-founder & Judge
JD works for Hilton Hotels and runs an after-hours web and design firm called Torque Design Shop. His background is in Creative Writing, specifically poetry – which means everything he’s learned which is of any value is self-taught. When he finds the time, he likes fishing.
Tony White, Co-founder & Judge
Tony is a Memphis, Tennessee, web designer whose primary focus is XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which he studied at View Source University. He’s been working with web sites in some form or another since 1997. When not working, he plays Desktop Tower Defense, reads light novels, walks his dog, and marvels over the latest products at Taco Bell.
Jennifer Curtiss, Judge
Jennifer is a web developer near the Greater Chicago area. She’s been working for just over a year, mostly as a back-end coder, but has been refining her front end development skills since 2003. In her free time, she likes volunteering and taking pictures with her Holga. She also writes web tutorials and bakes delicious food.
James Daniels, Judge
James is a web designer and student at the University of Maine where he studies Computer Science & Math. He spends his time working on their IT Website, teaching faculty computer skills, and developing software for his company, MarginLeft.
Arjan Eising, Judge
Arjan is a high school senior from the Netherlands who likes building web sites and applications. When he’s not studying, he’s watching a great movie or swimming at the local pool. Next year he plans on attending university, continuing to develop his own company and working for his employer.
TJ Mapes, Judge
TJ is a web designer from the Midwest who co-owns and operates the small design/development company, Simplifive, LLC and has been designing web sites professionally for four years. He lives and dies by his RSS reader which is completely overflowing right now. He’s in a band, Kedda, likes traveling, and blogs over at GetANewBrowser.com.
Dan Ott, Judge
Dan is a freelance web developer out of Bloomington, Indiana. He’s got five years of experience in web development working with the PHP/MySql combo and JavaScript/AJAX, but his true passion is XHTML/CSS. He likes his fish tank, playing Ultimate and reading. When he’s not doing any of that, he blogs and fidgets with his personal web site.
Brad Dielman, Judge
Brad Dielman is a husband, father, and freelance web designer living and working in Cleveland, Ohio. He is actively involved in the Cleveland Web Standards Association and helps promote best practices in web design and development in the Northeast Ohio area. Brad won the CSS Off ‘Wikinetic’ contest in September 2007, and chose to donate his $50 winnings to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Brad blogs about web design, web standards and life in general on his personal site.
