Meet the CSS Off Judges

Tony and I are pleased (and a little relieved) to announce that the CSS Off now has its first official crew. We hope you’ll get to know them better. As we slugged our way through the first two contests, we slowly realized that to do this thing right, we had to give it more time than we had alone.

Rather than abandon the whole concept, or hand it off to a group who didn’t envision it the way we did, we decided to find a little help. We didn’t offer any compensation, just the fuzzy feeling that comes with helping something good grow.

We ended up with five outstanding volunteers who share our ideals about the contest, and we couldn’t be more pleased. There are also some characteristics about our group of judges that makes it so exciting:

We’re Diverse. Spread all over the map, with representation from Tennessee on up to Maine – all the way over to the Netherlands.

We’re Young. With judges ranging in age from 18 to 31, we’re offering a full range of experience to the learning process for our contestants.

We’re Passionate. We all blog about the Web (some more than others) – and our voices resonate from the daily experience of wrangling her.

We’re Committed. We’ll work to make the CSS Off into the highest quality learning experience for web designers and developers, whether that’s by providing well-thought contests or useful feedback to every person who enters the contest, free of charge. You just have to enter.
