CSS Off

The Contest

  • Convert a .psd into HTML making use of web standards, in 24 hours or less. Think SimpleQuiz, except it's the final exam.

The Mission

  • To actively engage the web community in web standards with an emphasis on valid, semantic markup
  • To emphasize good web design as an integral part of the development process
  • To use the contest as an opportunity to teach

Next Contest is September 15, 2007

At one minute past midnight (12:01 am), CST, September 15, a .psd (and .png) will be available for download in .zip format on this page. You’ll have 24 hours to send your zipped entry to cssoff@gmail.com.

As always, the winner of this contest gets to pick between $30 in cash or a $50 donation to a charity of their choosing, and we’ll feature you and your site when we discuss your winning entry.

This time around, we’ll have help from a fantastic group of judges, who we’ll introduce when we make the files available.

    You can set Google Calendar to email you reminders of events. Even if you don’t use it for anything else, it might be useful for this.

    Just a suggestion.

  4. @ Galen - You can also set up a notifier using Feedblitz (or a similar website). Just add the feed (click on Syndication in the menu) and your e-mailaddress to get an e-mail when a new blogpost is created over here.

  6. Holy crap! I won’t be able to attend… It’s the only weekend this month that I won’t even be in the country… I’m gonna miss all the fun :(
